The opponents of Jesus persist in their efforts to try and trap and discredit Jesus. They first question him in regards to the paying of taxes to Caesar, and then challenge him on the legitimacy of the resurrection of the dead. In both cases, Jesus shows he is more than up to the challenge. We need be mindful that when we bring our questions to Christ, if only trying to prove our own point, we too will find the wisdom of Christ far exceeds our own. 1. An effort to discredit (vs. 13-14)2. Jesus knew their hypocrisy (vs. 15-17)3. An attempt to ridicule (vs. 18-23)4. Jesus highlights their ignorance (vs. 24-27)SONGSYes I Will #7105442 by E Hoagland, J Smith, & M Fieldes© All Essential Music The Lord Our God #6518055 by J Ingram & K Stanfill2013© sixsteps MusicOver All I Know #7105439 by A Rozier, J Ingram, & J Cates© All Essential MusicDo It Again #7067555 by C Brown, M Brock, M Redman, & S Furtick© Elevation Worship PublishingGod I Look To You #5858163 by J Johnson2010 © Bethel Music
