Because He Was Raised

All of Christianity rests on this one single truth – Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. But what if it didn’t happen, as the skeptics have suggested? What would this mean to you? If Jesus was not raised, then faith is merely a word, of no value to you or anyone else. Your faith would be futile, useless, and empty. If the story never happened, you’ve believed a lie. If it is a lie, you are still dead in your sins, lost. And without hope in this world. But Jesus was raised. And because he was raised, you have been born again into a living hope and raised to walk in the newness of life. And you can say along with Paul, “But thanks be to God! He gives me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).
