Here at NLC we value culture second to Jesus. We believe that culture is the engine that drives everything that is not Jesus. The culture that we invite people into really matters when it comes to even the presence of God. Take aways for leadersAsk yourself: How do we make sure that we have a good culture? Then ask yourself: What comes against it? What is the enemy of culture? If we know the enemy, we can know how we can fight against it. Your environment is what you make of it. Even if you’re not being negative, but you’re not being positive, you’re not applying yourself to your group the way that needs to be if you want a culture that's going to be the greatest place to work. The way you communicate to your organization will either add to the culture or subtract from it. Having great communication is key for a successful culture. Keep everyone moving in the same direction, the same goal. We want communication from the bottom up. Sometimes you need that information to come up, because they are the ones who are the closest to the front line. Most of us are competing within our own team, not because we want to, but because it is within our own culture. You have to be okay with who you are, you cannot be constantly comparing yourself to everyone else. You be who you are called to be. Once we start comparing ourselves to one another we start competing. Once we start competing with one another, we start defeating the very people we are supposed to be winning along side with. Quotes“Culture is never ever stagnant.” - Roman Archer “It takes 10 people leading in the right culture to create something powerful, but it takes 1 person leading in the wrong way to ruin it all.”-Joshua Gagnon“The desire for power always competes for the desire for a great culture.” - Joshua Gagnon “We don't want to compete, but we want to complete with other churches.”- Joshua Gagnon
