RUF is the official college campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. Les Newsom served as a campus minister for 17 years. In the summer of 2011, Les took a position as an Area Coordinator for RUF in Alabama, Mississippi, West Tennessee, and Arkansas. Serving 20 campuses as a coordinator, he continues to speak at conferences and churches throughout the region.
One of the more puzzling revelations Paul makes in this passage is that being chosen by God from before the foundations of the Earth, the doctrine of predestination, is actually a blessing. How can this be when it feels like the doctrine is fraught with so much confusion and fear?
