Caesarea Philippi is a town in northern Israel. It is where the Jordan River begins. The springs and surrounding area are beautiful.
In Jesus’s day, it was pagan to the hilt. The people worshipped and sacrificed to the god Pan.
But the setting and the pagan influence made it the ideal place for Jesus to ask his disciples the most compelling question ever asked.
“Who do you say that I am?"
Peter stood and delivered the answer.
“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus is the source of living water. Faith in him is where powers of darkness are broken and new life begins
Peter answered correctly.
What about you? Who do you say that Jesus is?
