Kids Need Grace Too

Dads, it is easy to exasperate our kids.
The very thing the Bible tells us not to do.
But we do it when we tie our acceptance and approval of our kids to their performance.
Now we may not intend to do this.
But when our kids come to us excited about the B they made on a very hard test and we respond, "why didn’t you make an A?", we are communicating to them that our approval has to be earned.
That’s exasperating for a kid.
Dads listen to this encouragement from Paul.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, for the glory of God.
Show this grace to your children. Let them know you accept them without strings attached
Rather than exasperating them, you can bring them up in the training of the Lord.
