Live Out Your Identity

Moses was a son of Pharaoh’s daughter, not by birth, but by circumstance.
Which meant everything Egypt had to offer was his for the taking.
Yet when he was grown, he chose a different life.
He denied his Egyptian identity.
He chose to be mistreated with the people of God rather than enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.
He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt.
He endured because he saw him who is invisible.
It’s an inspiring story of faith.
But as the writer of Hebrews explained, Moses lived in the shadow of the good things that were to come.
But not you.
You have the real thing — Jesus Christ himself in you.
The power to live out your identity as a child of God in this world of darkness.
