Letter From Steve Dulin | June 2011 Hello everyone,At our June Habitation service, we focused on the Lordship of Jesus Christ. God moved in the hearts of many people, and at the end of the service, over 300 people came forward to submit their lives, or an area of their lives, to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (Watch the Service)We often hear about the importance of making Jesus our Savior, but we don’t hear as much about the importance of making Him our Lord. However, God puts a tremendous emphasis on the importance of making Jesus our Lord. For example: • The words “save” and “saved” are in the Bible approximately 200 times. • But the word “Lord” is in the Bible 5,000 times. • The word “Savior” is in the New Testament 24 times. • But the word “Lord” is in the New Testament 680 times. God wants us to make Jesus not just our Savior, but our Lord. Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Salvation is not just making a decision between heaven and hell. It’s making a decision about who will be Lord of your life. To be “lord” means to have supreme power or authority. In “Texan,” it means, “being the boss.” God wants to be the “boss” of your life. He wants to make the decisions and be Lord of your life. When He’s in charge, He can transform you into the image of Christ and use you to do great things. Submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ is the key to living the abundant Christian life and receiving His blessing in every area of your life. June AssignmentYour assignment this month is to make Jesus Christ the Lord of every area of your life. Examine your heart and ask the Holy Spirit if there is anything you need to surrender to Him. Areas of surrender may include your family, your relationships, your finances, your career, your time, your entertainment, your thoughts or your emotions. If the Holy Spirit highlights any area to you, repent and surrender the area to Him, giving Him full authority to be the Lord of your life. TestimoniesWe have received some wonderful testimonies of people who have seen God move in their lives through the Habitation services. (Read testimonies) If you have a testimony, please send it to us using our online form or email it to testimonies@gatewaypeople.com. Your testimonies are a great encouragement to us and to others in the body of Christ. The Next Habitation ServiceThe next Habitation service will be held Sunday, July 10. We will have a special time of prayer and ministry in the Auditorium at 5:15 pm, and the service begins at 6:00 pm. Our focus will be on the presence of God, so we will have extended worship and more time for individual ministry. Thank you for being a part of what God is doing at Habitation. I look forward to seeing you at the next Habitation service. God Bless, Steve Dulin For more information, visit habitation.gatewaypeople.com or email habitation@gatewaypeople.com.
