King Ahab blames Elijah for the drought and the trouble Israel is experiencing, but Elijah will rightly assert that it is Ahab’s disobedience to the commandments of the LORD and worship of Baal that has brought the calamity upon the land. Seeking to publicly vindicate the name of the LORD, Elijah calls all of Israel to witness. Though we can feel outnumbered at times, we trust in the name of the LORD.1. The command (vs. 1-2a)2.
