Worship in Spirit and Truth

Where do you worship the Lord? Jesus turned this question on its head in a conversation with a Samaritan women. As a Samaritan her place of worship was Mt Gerizim. For the Jews, Jerusalem was the sacred place. But Jesus let her know that, “A time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem” It’s not the where that matters. According to Jesus, it’s the how. The kind of worshipers the Father seeks are those who worship him in Spirit and in truth. That’s why he never points us to a place, but to a person. The how of worshiping the Father happens when you abide in the Son by grace through faith. And that takes place wherever you are.
