Your Place is Secure

Tony Romo lost his job as starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. It wasn’t because he played badly. He had been injured and was expecting to step back into his spot once he got healthy. No one expected the rookie Dak Prescott to do as well as he did. But with his play, he earned the starting job. As Romo watched the rookie each week, he knew. His days as starter for the Cowboys had come to an end. He explained, football is a meritocracy. You earn your way. It is a harsh reality. But one that makes me thankful for the truth of the Gospel. That we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. It is a gift. Which means your place in Christ is secure.
